Encouraging Wellbeing

The Roost in Schools

The journey into young adulthood can be just as challenging as the path which takes us through our twenties.

Our schools team works with Sixth Form staff to add to the supportive environment in school or college, offering both one-to-one sessions and workshops with students, particularly in areas such as managing stress, building resilience and developing foundations of wellbeing.

We also respond to the specific needs of students such as walking with grief and cultivating positive relationships.

We work with schools to support them in meeting the SMSC requirements of Ofsted.

We recognise how this stage of life can often be a time for big questions – so spaces to explore, debate, wonder and be still are important to our work. In some schools we are able to build these spaces in rooms we are given. At others we create online spaces which invite reflection and nurture personal development.

‘Sixth Form is nothing short of an emotional rollercoaster. Having someone to talk to who has experience of helping students through the difficult times can be really beneficial. The Roost’s work in mentoring and coaching helps provide practical solutions to help manage workload as well as helping students with personal issues. They create a space to escape and a space to practice effective mindfulness.’
